Central Control

Welcome to Central Control at the MSU Physical Plant Division.

If you have a heating, cooling or ventilation concern, call 353-1760 for immediate assistance.

For routine or special services, complete an online service request.

HVAC Central Control (“Monitor Room”), created in 1975, is a part of the Building Services Department at the Physical Plant.

Its primary function is to manage the campus Building Automation System, which monitors the heating and cooling systems in the more than 100 buildings it is connected to on campus.

Central Control is responsible for:

  • monitoring and diagnosing mechanical system alarms
  • providing support to the skilled-trades departments
  • programming and scheduling equipment to operate to optimize campus needs with minimizing energy consumption
  • providing service to campus customers with temperature comfort concerns.

If you're planning a special request or have specific scheduling needs, requests for extended heating, cooling, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) schedules can be made by submitting a Physical Plant service request. Visit our service request page or call 353-1760. Billing will occur for incurred cost where appropriate. The HVAC scheduling policy can be found in the Manual of Business Procedures.
