Agenda Items
Ron Flinn led a review of the Physical Plant Report for the month of July 2011.
The Aug.18 Assistant Vice President's meeting was reviewed.
Beth Alexander and Nancy Allen reviewed health options through Health 4 U. More information can be found here.
The coming change to the use of United States Postal Service street addresses for every facility on campus was presented and discussed.
Barb Wilber is scheduled to attend the Emergency Operation Tabletop Design in September.
The first home football game is scheduled for a weekday. On Friday, Sept. 2, some changes to parking availability will result from preparations for the game.
Vennie Gore invited all to help with the student move-in on Sunday, Aug. 28. Those interested can submit their applications here.
Jenni McManus played the video on sexual assault, which is viewed by all incoming freshmen students. After viewing the video, it was agreed that all employees would benefit from this information. The video will be made available to the Physical Plant team.
Gus Gosselin described his visit to an iron ore mine while attending the MiAPPA meeting this summer. The Empire and Tildon mines contribute significantly to the local economy.
McManus reported on the start of negotiations with the Administrative Professional Association.
The next new employee orientation will be held Sept. 22. Two tours will be underway at the same time in order to logistically manage the large number of people coming on board.
Bob Ellerhorst offered his thanks for help with yesterday’s ash truck spill.
The 2011 Earn, Learn and Intern Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 2 to 6 p.m. Wilber reminded folks to let Karen Zelt’s staff know of any open student employee or intern positions.
An erroneous communication was sent regarding wage increases for students. The correct increase for this fall is two percent.
Wilber reviewed a proposal for making the distinction between campus and off-campus facilities. It was agreed the 5,200 contiguous acres is the area considered campus. Any facility that falls outside of that area will be labeled as off-campus.
Lynda Boomer described the effort underway to understand how our supply chain impacts the carbon footprint for MSU.
