Stockroom

The Physical Plant maintains its own Maintenance Stockroom in order to make sure it has a supply of materials on hand at all times. This allows for prompt and efficient service when a spare part stock is requested.

The stockroom staff oversees more than a quarter of a million parts for every maintenance operation performed by the Physical Plant's Building Services Department, which includes Custodial Services and Maintenance Services.

The Physical Plant stockroom is continuously maintained in order to provide needed parts in a timely manner, aid with the identification and location of parts, eliminate obsolete items, reduce inventory when possible and maintain critical parts stock. These steps allow the Physical Plant staff to reduce any downtime while waiting for parts, eliminate costs for "rush" orders and save money for the University.
