Electricians were at the right place at the right time for one injured MSU student.
At approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday, Electrician IIs Erik Buckley and Dan Lundquist were on their way to a job at the MSU Auditorium when they stopped to help a student who had just gotten hit by an area delivery car in front of the Auditorium Road parking ramp.
"During our route, we witnessed it, and thought, 'We should stop and help her out,'" Buckley said.
Buckley turned on the utility truck's strobe lights, and the two called Physical Plant dispatch, which in turn called an ambulance and MSU Police. Buckley and Lundquist directed traffic around the student until an ambulance arrived five minutes later.
Buckley assumed the female student had a twisted or broken ankle because she couldn't stand up.
John Nurenberg, electrical skilled trades supervisor, applauds his employees for stopping to help a student in need.
"When I got word about what they did, I told them, 'Great, good job,'" Nurenberg said. "It's just one of those things where you just have to do it."
