After more than a year of planning, Administrative Assistant I Darius Bradley can finally breathe a sigh of relief: The 51st annual Big Ten and Friends Building Services Administrators Conference, hosted by Michigan State University, came and went smoothly.
The conference, hosted by a different Big Ten school each year, is a meeting of custodial managers and supervisors.
Bradley, along with Custodial Manager Brandon Baswell, had been planning this year’s MSU-hosted conference ever since attending the one held at the University of Michigan last year.
MSU’s conference took place Sept. 23 through Sept. 25. It gave each school a chance to see what methods worked best for other building service programs.
“Everyone is there to see what everyone else is doing and to try to pick up something new,” said Bradley.
The conference featured presentations from each school, tours of various campus buildings and chances for venders to show their products. Guests also had time to socialize, which included going out to dinner as a group.
“I tried to make sure everyone had a good time,” said Bradley.
According to Bradley, guests said they enjoyed themselves during their time visiting MSU. “I received a lot of positive feedback from everyone who came,” he said. “It went really well.”
