The Physical Plant is offering its services for this year’s American Cancer Society Coaches vs. Cancer event, which is titled “Izzo Goes to Broadway.”
According to Custodial Service Manager III Ted Minnick, Custodial Services will help move a number of athletic items to the Wharton Center the morning of the show. Items will include a portable basketball hoop, a shot clock, scorers’ tables as well as any other pieces of sports equipment requested. Minnick also said the department will help clean-up after the performance. Landscape Services Manager Gerry Dobbs said his department will also pitch in by providing a golf cart at no cost. Dobbs said his staff is glad to help because “it’s something to help out a worthy cause.”
MSU Men’s Basketball Coach Tom Izzo will perform in “Izzo Goes to Broadway” at the Wharton Center at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6. Tickets range from $55 to $150. According to Wharton’s website, it will be “an evening of song, dance and inspiration” with proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society.
Coaches vs. Cancer is a national partnership between the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the American Cancer Society. According to the effort’s website, more than 500 college coaches have helped to raise more than $40 million for the charity.
