A: The Applications Team provides a host of application-related services, such as researching alternative solutions for departmental application needs, researching new technologies, analyzing current application systems and business processes, and reviewing patches and upgrades to applications as they are released.
This team is also responsible for developing and supporting in-house applications designed to meet various departmental business needs. This includes implementing enhancements to existing applications along with the development of new applications such as those designed to generate and upload files to the accounting system, collect and manage data, or monitor and control external systems. The team coordinates the implementation of FAMIS modules from inception to completion, including installation, testing, implementation, and support of these modules at all levels (development, quality assurance, training, and production).
A: FAMIS (Facilities Administration Management Information System) software provides products and services to help organizations maintain and operate facilities assets, manage space, and control capital projects. FAMIS Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) includes Facilities Management, Property Management, Real Estate Management, Maintenance Management, Capital Projects, Preventative Maintenance, and Space Management.
A: E-mail from the Physical Plant is sent to the address you indicated as your "publish in print" e-mail address on the University Faculty / Staff / Retiree address system's Personal tab. Please check that the desired e-mail address is the one set in the University's address system. Additionally, please check your e-mail junk or spam mail blockers to insure that e-mail from the Physical Plant is not being blocked or moved to another folder.
A: Log into the MSU Faculty/Staff/Retiree Address system at https://fsra.msu.edu/AppLogin.Asp?LoginType=Manual&SecCs=37 and navigate to the "Personal" tab. Enter the desired address and check it as "Publish in Print."

A: FAMIS is licensed software. Departments currently licensed for FAMIS use are: Physical Plant Division, Facilities Planning and Space Management, Housing and Food Services, and Campus Planning and Administration.
A: From the home page of the Physical Plant website, select the "Search for Requests" link from the Quick Links box and then select the "Search for Requests" button. Enter your Search Criteria (project number or work order number) and then click "Execute Query." The Request Number will be displayed as well as the Status of the Request. For additional information, click "Help" on the toolbar.
